Savannah Pallet Rack
Pallet Rack in Savannah, GA
New pallet rack systems for Savannah's import warehouses, supplier plants and regional distribution. We plan the storage around your pallet sizes, beam loads, clear height and forklift reach, then coordinate the installation around receiving and shipping.
Storage that follows the freight
Garden City Terminal brings import stock into West Chatham warehouses, while Pooler's I-95 / I-16 crossroads connects regional distribution and 3PL space. Port Wentworth's GA-21 corridor adds large cross-dock buildings close to the terminal. Heavy container flow means high pallet counts, changing SKU profiles and frequent re-slotting. The rack plan needs receiving and staging room as well as reserve positions.
Selective pallet racks give access to individual loads. Pushback, drive-in and pallet flow can serve repeated stock where lane depth and retrieval order fit the inventory. Carton flow serves smaller-unit picks, while cantilever provides an open face for lumber, pipe and other long materials. We choose the system from the storage task rather than filling every open area with the same rack.
Measure the building before counting levels
Dean Forest Road and Rincon parks include 32–36 foot clear rear-load buildings. Older Garden City, Old Louisville Road and West Savannah warehouses include 18–24 foot clear space. Different heights and column grids call for different rack elevations and aisle layouts. The forklift's loaded reach can limit storage before the building envelope does.
Bring the actual loaded footprint, maximum pallet weights and equipment details. Beam capacity follows the loads assigned to each level, while frame capacity follows the complete bay arrangement. We check the turning space at row ends and the route from receiving to put-away, so the proposed positions remain accessible during a working shift.
New material and an operating work sequence
Savannah's food distribution and refrigerated imports make cooler and freezer space another storage consideration. Bulk pallets may suit deeper lanes, but rotation and pallet compatibility still govern the choice. EV and auto-parts suppliers around Ellabell and the I-16 corridor may need returnable-container reserve connected to a separate carton picking or kitting area.
Coastal storms can change installation access and post-storm restock staging. Long, hot, humid summers affect crews in non-air-conditioned buildings. We agree on material placement and work zones before installation, and can coordinate new storage with a warehouse transfer. Send a drawing, clear-height measurements and your load profile to begin the consultation.
